About
Us
For more than 30 years, maranGraphics has led the
way in producing compelling easy-to-follow books
covering a variety of subjects. The key to the
company's success is a revolutionary process called "visual grammar." Pioneered by maranGraphics, it combines images and words to
convey complex information in a manner that is at
once comprehensive and easy-to-follow. In 1990
visual grammar truly found its niche with
WordPerfect 5.1 for DOS, maranGraphics' first
computer book oriented to the
non-technical reader. It became an instant best
seller. Since that time, the popularity of maranGraphics' approach has continued to grow and is
evident in the millions of books that have been sold
around the world.
Despite its success, maranGraphics remains a small
family-run business which takes an artisanal
approach to book production - handcrafting one book at a
time. The innovative company is led by the four Maran siblings. Robert Maran is the eldest and
serves as president of the company. He also acts as
the
chief technology consultant and principal
photographer for each book. Ruth Maran is the
company's lead writer. She has authored scores of
titles that have sold more than 10 million copies
worldwide--a distinction attained by very few
authors. Judy Maran manages the production of each
title, organizing the complex interaction of the
company's team of authors, illustrators, designers,
and proofreaders. The youngest sibling, Jill Maran,
handles the company's accounting, provides creative
input and regularly pitches in to keep production moving smoothly. The unique partnership of the Maran
siblings has always focused on excellence and
innovation, traits that have produced easy-to-follow
books acclaimed by millions of readers from around
the globe.
