Software used to create images that simulate watercolor paintings or enhance scanned pictures or graphics. A paint program gives you control over the exact color and shading of every dot (pixel) on the screen, but images cannot be as easily resized as they can in draw programs. Two popular paint programs are PC Paintbrush and Windows Paint. See also DRAW PROGRAM.
